MONOLITHICS

LOW CEMENT CASTABLE

The MACVIB range of low cement castables ranges from 45% to 95% Al2O3 content. They are made with aluminous aggregates and HYBOND cement. These are suitable for extreme service conditions upto 1800^°c. These products are distinguished by their high volume stability, low porosity, better corrosion and erosion resistance, good thermal shock resistance and excellent hot strength. Installation of these castables is by vibration only. These products are also offered with large aggregate -10mm for lining thicknesses exceeding 75 mm.

CONVENTIONAL CASTABLE

The MAC CRETE range of conventional castables is suitable for moderate and high heat duty applications. These are calcium aluminate bonded refractory concrete for application in temperatures upto 1400^°c. These can be either vibration cast or poured. The grading of these products is formulated such that they can be gunned if required. The MACHEAT range of high alumina conventional castables is made with aluminous aggregate and HYBOND cement. These products are suitable for use in critical applications upto 1800^°c. They exhibit high volume stability, good thermal shock resistance and excellent hot strength. These castables are installed by both vibration and hand placement.

INSULATING CASTABLE

The MACLITE range of insulating castables is based on high purity insulating grog manufactured in-house. The service temperature goes upto 1800^°c and bulk densities as low as 500 gms/dm3. This prolific range of castables find use as both hot face and backup refractory lining. The castables have higher strength than fibre products and are more versatile than bricks, making them the product of choice for multiple applications.

LOW CEMENT GUNNING PRODUCTS

The MACGUN range is formulated with HYBOND cement and synthetic refractory aggregates. They are characterized by high refractoriness, good abrasion and corrosion resistance and high volume stability. These products can be applied through hot or cold gunning. This range finds application in Blast Furnace, steel ladles, LRF, EAF, petrochemical and fertilizer plants.

ULTRA LOW CEMENT CASTABLE

These castables with lime content -1% provide the versatility of an unshaped product in terms of application while not compromising on the hot load properties of similar shaped-fired products. They display higher density, lower porosity and superior abrasion resistance in comparison. These are also offered as precast-prefired products in critical shapes and for large formats.

SELF FLOW CASTABLES

The MACFLOW range is a set of tailor made self flow castables. Depending on the end use, these could be either silicate bonded or alumina bonded. This range is available in a wide range of alumina content. Their installation is recommended by pouring against the form work. High purity of the bond system and easy placement make them highly acceptable for various applications.

ZIRCON BEARING MONOLITHICS

For glass melter sub paving, furnace hot/cold repairs and zircon brick laying, Maithan manufactures high purity Zircon based masses. These are manufactured using fused AZS and zircon and are designed to sinter at low temperatures while providing a high degree of alkali resistance at elevated temperatures.

REFRACTORY PLASTICS

These are maintenance products designed for minimal preparation and quick installation, perfect for hot and emergency repairs. Due to high plasticity, these are useful for hard to reach areas or where adherence of other products is an issue. They exhibit high metal and slag resistance. For optimum results we recommend pneumatic ramming of plastics.

CALCIUM ALUMINATE BINDER

The Calcium Aluminate range is a family of sophisticated hydraulic refractory binders designed for use in high technology monolithic refractories. Ranging from 45% alumina to 80% alumina and fineness upto 4500 blaine, these products ensure rapid hardening, superior corrosion resistance and excellent thermo-mechanical performance of the monolithic body. Suitable for both casting and gunning.

SPECIAL PRODUCTS

As a one stop shop, we provide many specialized solutions for critical and niche applications in metal processing with the usage of hybrid chemistries. Usage of superior synthetic raw materials and additives is key and application procedures are finely attuned to the Customer’s requirements. Further customised versions for each product can be provided depending on the specific application parameters.

BLAST FURNACE PRODUCTS

Our BF monolithics are designed for ease of application, with optimum sintering properties. Special Slag inhibitors allow for high corrosion resistance. Application methods range from casting to extrusion to ramming.

NOZZLE FILLING COMPOUNDS

With precise granulometry, free flow and non sintering property, these compounds are critical to the free flow of steel. Different chemistries are developed depending on the application and product is adapted to suit the nozzle diameter / holding time.

MORTAR

Our Mortars consist of well fired calcines mixed with plastic materials to ensure smooth workability and high refractoriness. They are designed for good adherence, comparable corrosion resistance and stability at the same application temperature as the brick. They can be applied in a multitude of methods as per site conditions and application demands.

INSULATING AND AIR SETTING MORTAR

These are single and double component mortars for special applications providing high strength at a range of temperatures with good workability. They are designed for good adherence, comparable corrosion resistance and stability at the same application temperature as the brick.
